Franklin N. Smith

Franklin N. Smith is a member of VanCott's Litigation Section and Construction Law group. Mr. Smith practices in the areas of construction, government contracts and energy development law.
Mr. Smith represents owners, contractors and subcontractors in claims disputes and other legal matters affecting the construction industry. He has an extensive background in government contracts law and represents many clients who provide products and services to federal, state and municipal agencies. For the past several years, Mr. Smith has represented an industry trade group on a variety of issues related to federal contract reform initiatives at a Department of Energy research facility in Idaho. He served as general counsel for two alternative energy development companies for four years before returning to private practice in 1992. Drawing on that experience, he now represents clients in the areas of geothermal resource leasing and energy development law. He also practices law in Idaho.
