Loren E. Weiss

Loren Weiss is a member of the firm's Litigation Practice Group. He focuses his practice in the area of criminal defense--emphasizing white collar criminal defense, corporate compliance and internal investigations, as well as complex civil litigation. Mr. Weiss has represented individuals and companies in many federal, state and internal investigations and prosecutions. He has more than 38 years of experience with investigation, litigation and regulation of matters involving complex securities fraud, environmental compliance and crimes, bank fraud, tax fraud, wire and mail fraud, healthcare fraud, and antitrust. Mr. Weiss has lectured widely on topics related to federal criminal law, including fraud prosecutions and investigations, evidence, trial skills, and federal sentencing guidelines. From 1991-1999 he taught Prosecution Function, Defense Function, Advanced Evidence, and Criminal Trial Practice as an Adjunct Professor for the J. Reuben Clark Law School, Brigham Young University. Mr. Weiss has been recognized since 2007 by Mountain States Super Lawyers in the area of Criminal Defense: White Collar and continues to be recognized by Utah Business Magazine as one of the 2010 Utah Legal Elite in the area of Criminal Law. Also since 2007, The American Trial Lawyers Association has honored him as among Utah's "Top 100 Trial Lawyers".
