ALEX B. LEEMAN is a member of Van Cott's Litigation Section, practicing general civil and commercial litigation.  Mr. Leeman's practice centers on three areas:

-  Financial institutions:

    Mr. Leeman has significant experience representing financial institutions' interests in bankruptcy proceedings and collecting on secured debts.  Mr. Leeman's expertise includes foreclosure and repossession of collateral, litigating release of collateral from a debtor's bankruptcy estate, and pursuing deficiency claims.

-  General business litigation/Employment law:

    Much of Mr. Leeman's practice involves general business litigation for individuals and small and mid-sized Utah businesses.  Mr. Leeman has experience with a range of employment matters, including defending against wrongful termination claims and both challenging and defending employment non-compete agreements.  He has also litigated dissolution of business entities and represented clients in general contract disputes, including problems with leases, service contracts, vendor/vendee arrangements, and real estate purchase agreements.

-  Professionals:

    Mr. Leeman represents attorneys in disciplinary matters before the Utah State Bar and Utah Supreme Court, and has defended attorneys and law firms against malpractice and FDCPA claims.  Mr. Leeman has also assisted medical professionals with licensing, disciplinary, and malpractice matters before the Utah Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing.
