Van Cott Magazine Receives Platinum Award in MarCom Competition

The law firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy is proud to announce that the
Van Cott magazine has received the coveted Platinum Award in the recent MarCom awards competition.

The MarCom Awards is an international competition for marketing and communication professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of marketing and communication programs and print, visual, and audio materials. The competition is open to all individuals, companies, and organizations involved in producing any kind of marketing and communication materials for external or internal audiences. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, and freelancers. Each year there are approximately 5,000 entries from throughout the United States and other countries.

The Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding entries in the competition. They are recognized for their excellence in terms of quality, creativity, and resourcefulness.

The competition has grown to perhaps the largest of its kind in the world. A look at the winners shows a range in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 50 companies. The Van Cott magazine received the top award in the area of external corporate communications. Van Cott is proud to be among such prestigious and well-know companies as AFLAC, Aon, Assurant, Thomson Reuters, New York Life and United Healthcare, to name a few of this year's other category winners within the competition.

The MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). This international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production, and freelance professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges, and sets standards for industry excellence.

Entries are judged by senior-level, experienced professionals; they are freelancers or own their own businesses, selected based on experience and availability. All work is evaluated solely on its own quality, creativity, and resourcefulness. Judges base their decisions on learned perceptions of creative excellence.

Van Cott's magazine is the main marketing and communication piece for the firm and is published three times each year. The magazine has become synonymous with the firm's identity and each issue is well-received by friends and clients of the firm.

The award is shared by the firm's marketing and publishing company, newsLINK Marketing Strategies, LLC.
