Gabrielle Lee Caruso Joins Van Cott’s Labor and Employment Team

A 26-year legal veteran, who worked for the State Attorney General’s office since 2000, has joined the Salt Lake law firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy. Gabrielle “Lee” Caruso, who served as the Section Chief of the Employment Section, will utilize her extensive experience as a member of Van Cott’s Labor and Employment team

Ms. Caruso began her 26 year legal career working in the labor intensive Detroit area. For eighteen years, she represented employers in state and federal court in employment related matters including union disputes, collective bargaining, union decertification, unfair labor practices, and unlawful picketing. After moving to Utah in 1997, Ms. Caruso worked in private practice in Park City, where she assisted clients with employment, labor, and real estate litigation matters. During her tenure as the Chief of the Employment Section for the State, she counseled and defended all state agencies including its universities, colleges and school districts in employment related matters in federal and state court.

Ms. Caruso earned her J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University, and clerked for the Macomb County Circuit Court, the U.S. Attorney’s office and the U.S. Court of Appeals (6th Circuit).
