J. Robert Nelson Joins Vancott
November 11, 2004…The law firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy is pleased to announce that J. Robert Nelson has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Mr. Nelson is a nationally prominent bankruptcy lawyer, having represented both creditors and debtors in a broad range of industries throughout the world.
Mr. Nelson received his J.D. from UCLA, Order of the Coif, in 1971 where he was an Editor of the UCLA Law Review. During his career, he served as a member of the Judge Advocate Generals Corps of the U.S. Navy, and worked for renowned international law firms including Sidley & Austin, LeBoeuf Lamb, Morrison & Foerster, and most recently, Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal.
Mr. Nelson has focused his practice on commercial law, debtor/creditor rights and corporate insolvency and has played major roles in the Utah reorganizations of Terracor, Sweetwater, Beehive International and Triad America. He is admitted to practice in California and Utah.
