VanCott Expands with Two New Associates
Utah’s oldest law firm, Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy, continues to expand with the addition of two new associates - Lisa B. Bohman and Daniel C. Carr. “We are proud to have new associates, who are not only highly educated, but who bring practical experience working in the corporate and government environment,” notes Managing Partner, Stephen D. Swindle.
Lisa. Bohman received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University, her Masters in Public Administration, Phi Kappa Phi, from the University of Utah, and her J.D., magna cum laude, from BYU’s Reuben Clark Law School (Order of the Coif). Before earning her law degree, Ms. Bohman worked for seven years as an analyst for the State of Utah, as a law school Teaching Assistant, and as Senior Editor of the Law Review. She served as an Extern with Judge Paul Cassell, U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, the Office of General Counsel for Brigham Young University, and as a summer associate with Van Cott. Ms. Bohman has published on the topic of women's history and has authored an article on the first amendment rights to be published in an upcoming edition of BYU's Education and Law Journal.
Daniel Carr received his B.S. in accounting from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management, where he was National Merit Scholar and earned the Certified Management Accountant and Certified in Financial Management designations.
After working in various finance positions for IBM in Colorado and New York, Mr. Carr received his MBA degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, studying at the University's London Center, in conjunction with The University of Cambridge, and at the Universidad Alberto Hurtado in Santiago, Chile. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University where he was the managing editor of the International Law and Management review and member of the moot court team and regional champion negotiation and trial advocacy teams.
