VanCott Expands Corporate and Securities Practice – Acquires Park City-based O’Brien & O’Brien
The VanCott law firm is pleased to announce that Michael C. O'Brien and Karen E. O'Brien have joined the firm. Formerly of O'Brien & O'Brien of Park City, Utah, this husband and wife team will continue to assist private and public companies with their corporate and litigation needs.
Michael O'Brien, a Utah native, received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Utah, and his Juris Doctor from Boston College Law School. Prior to returning to Utah, he practiced with Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP in New York and Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington, D.C. where his practice focused on corporate law and finance, commercial litigation, bank regulation, and real estate law. Mr. O'Brien is a member of the Utah State Bar, the New York State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Association, and he is admitted to practice in Utah, New York and the District of Columbia.
Ms. O'Brien received her B.S., cum laude, from Georgetown University and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Boston College Law School. She gained significant experience in corporate, commercial and securities law while working for the international law firms of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, as well as Rogers & Wells (now Clifford Chance), in New York City. Before moving to Park City, she was a member of the Corporate and Securities Department of Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington, D.C. Ms. O'Brien's practice focuses on corporate, commercial, securities and U.S. and international transactional law. Ms. O'Brien is a member of the Utah State Bar, the New York State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar.
