We represent individual and corporate clients in the exploration, development and utilization of natural resources throughout Utah and the intermountain west. Our experience encompasses resource acquisition and all phases of exploration, development, operation and reclamation. Clients include major oil and gas companies, pipelines, alternative fuel producers, coal operations and producers of hard rock minerals, limestone, potash and phosphate.

We assist clients with resource-related transactions, including sales, acquisitions and leases of mineral properties and facilities, the formation of joint ventures and project financings.
Titles
We prepare title opinions for purposes of acquisition, drilling or mining, division of production and financing. We also provide status reports, federal, state and Indian lease examinations, mining claim analysis and reports on water rights.
Permitting and Compliance
Project permitting and compliance issues, especially those relating to environmental compliance, oil and gas conservation, and mined-land reclamation, form a large part of our natural resource practice.

We represent clients in all aspects of public land law with a focus on energy and mineral development.
Cultural Resource Compliance
As interest in the protection of cultural resources increases, our attorneys assist clients with federal and state requirements regarding cultural resource inventories and mitigation efforts.

We help clients establish and implement mine safety programs. We also represent clients in litigation related to mine safety and health laws.
